1982 champion Keke Rosberg and Nico Rosberg, who finished the season as champions, were the second father-son champions of Formula 1 after Graham and Damon Hill.
Rosberg finished Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the final battle of the 2016 Formula One World Championship in the second place. He entered for the 33rd championship of Formula 1. Moreover, Rosberg is also known as 3rd German pilot of Formula 1 history after Michael Schumacher.
1985 Germany born Nico, who is Finn pilot Keke Rosberg’s son started Formula 1 races with go card at the age of 6. Rosberg started his proffesional career in 2001. He became a champion at BMW ADAC in 2002 and at GP2 in 2005. In 2006, Rosberg with his father’s Formula 1 Team, and was the 7th in the Bahrain Grand Prix for the first match of the season. German pilot raced for the first time at Australia Grand Prix, hosted the opening of 2008 season. Rosberg became a champion for the first time in his career at China Grand Prix of 2012 season.
Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, who were team mates in go card years were so close to the championship in 2014. The final race of 2014 Formula 1 season, which double point rule was introduced for the first time was the scene of the match of Hamilton and his team-mate Rosberg. Rosberg continued to the race in the second place and had loss of time, because of failure in 25th round. Rosberg wasn’t able to control his speed due to the failure, continued to take slower tours. And he finished the race in the 14th place. Hamilton became a champion in this race.
