Top Level of Motorsports
First of all, if you want to know something about this sport, we can start with the basics of Formula 1. Formula 1 can be considered as the top level of motor sport in the planet. This series of races, circulating around the world’s four continents each season, attracts hundreds of millions of people all over the world.
Formula 1 have not only the best drivers, but also the best engineers and designers in the team. Generally, the engine manufacturers behind the teams are trying to get one step ahead of their competitors by using the latest technology with incredibly high budget. All these efforts are usually given only for the differences measured by one percent of the time.
The First Years
The roots of Formula 1 are based on the Grand Prix races before the Second World War. At that time, Mercedes, Maserati and Alfa Romeo were in fierce competition for leadership. In 1950, the major races of the time were combined to form the Formula One World Championship. At that time, seven races – at least sixteen competitions today – consisted of the famous Indianapolis 500 race in England, Monaco, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Italy and USA. Italian Nino Farina is Formula 1’s first champion.
In the 1970s, we entered the process of rapid evolution and gained an international dimension, and professional teams emerged that were supported by major sponsors in the sense that we know now. The best pilots are now becoming more and more familiar with each other, not only those who are not strict followers. Niki Lauda and James Hunt were in the 70s, and Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna were the most popular drivers in the 80s.
